BRANCHBURG, NJ - Kinedyne Corporation has concluded its first annual Kinedyne Cares College Scholarship Program with $2,500 awards to two students - one from Alabama and one from Minnesota. The scholarships were presented through a competition conducted in conjunction with the Alabama State Trucking Association and the Minnesota State Trucking Association.
The recipients for the first year of the program were selected based on 500-word essays addressing the topic "How the trucking industry has positively impacted my life." The competition was open to all members of the respective trucking associations, as well as to members of their immediate families. Payments will be made directly to the winning students' bursar accounts for tuition costs.
"Given the current economy, every little bit can help when it comes to funding a college education," says David Callahan, corporate marketing manager for New Jersey-based Kinedyne, a manufacturer of cargo control products for the transportation industry. "We created our scholarship program to provide assistance to deserving individuals and families within our own industry. The initial outcome was outstanding, and all of us here at Kinedyne are really looking forward to developing this program in the future."
The winners of the inaugural Kinedyne Cares College Scholarship Program were Prattville, AL resident Cass Sheridan, who'll be attending Troy University, and Albany, MN resident Shaley Smalley, who will attend St. Cloud State University.
