Bridgestone Unveils R197 Truck Tire
NASHVILLE, TN - Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions introduced the Bridgestone R197, a low rolling resistance radial truck tire approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay program.
NASHVILLE, TN - Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions introduced the Bridgestone R197, a low rolling resistance radial truck tire approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay program.
The R197 is suitable for all positions, but has been specifically designed for single and tandem axle trailer and dolly applications in long-haul and regional use.
The tire "combines fuel-efficient tread designs and a shallow 11/32-inch tread depth to further increase fuel economy," say Bridgestone officials.
It also contains Bridgestone's patented Defense Groove design that creates uniform pressure across the shoulder to minimize edge wear and cupping, a straight-rib design for water evacuation, shoulder protector ribs on both sidewalls, and other features. The R197 is available in size 295/75R22.5 with a G Load Rating.
