SANTA PAULA, CA - BendPak recently announced that after nearly three years of planning, construction has commenced on an all-new, $65 million, mega-sized manufacturing facility that will nearly double the size of their current manufacturing and administrative capacity. The vast, 480,000 square-foot, multi-faceted complex is being built on a 15 acre plot of land. It is one of three new factories that will help BendPak facilitate production, increase efficiency and improve delivery times for some of their most popular products.
"Planning for this new plant has been a tremendous undertaking. We're hoping to have it completed sometime this summer," said Don Henthorn, President of BendPak.
The new manufacturing facility will be used primarily for manufacturing certain light and medium duty lift products, select parking systems, as well as other vehicle repair tools and equipment. The multiplex factory will house state-of-the-art equipment including numerically-controlled turning and milling equipment, automated welding systems and full-capability services like comprehensive metallurgy testing, heat treatment, automated powder coating, and other specialty operations. The facility will also house assembly and packaging operation centers and product development testing labs for BendPak's growing customer base around the globe.

"BendPak is deeply involved in product development and manufacturing to serve the world's growing demand for quality automotive service equipment" said Jeff Kritzer, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Vehicle repair equipment has been our business for almost five decades."
"Where other companies in the industry are shrinking their capabilities to save money, we've got big plans for growth and expansion," said Derek Taylor, BendPak's Communications Director. "This secondary factory will help us keep pace with growing international demand for reasonably-priced, high-quality automotive service equipment."
BendPak's new manufacturing facility is another step in an ongoing global investment policy. The inauguration ceremony for this new state-of-the-art, technology-packed factory took place late December of 2010 and was attended by special guests, dignitaries, and BendPak's senior management.
''This sends a positive message to our partners and customers around the world. BendPak is continually looking for ways to improve our level of service. We're not just investing in our future but theirs as well,'' said Don Henthorn.
Nearly 600 dedicated factory and administrative employees help deliver BendPak products to a growing vehicle and transportation industry. For more information on BendPak, visit www.BendPak.com.
