Baytech First to Certify 2009-MY CNG Pickups and Vans
LOS ALTOS, CA – Baytech Corporation has obtained EPA and CARB certifications for its dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG)-fueled 2009 General Motors full-size pickups and vans.
LOS ALTOS, CA – Baytech Corporation has obtained EPA and CARB certifications for its dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG)-fueled 2009 General Motors full-size pickups and vans. These are the first 2009-model-year CNG pickups and vans certified by EPA and CARB, the company said.
Baytech’s new CNG vehicle certifications include the 2009 Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD pickups and the 2009 Chevy Express/GMC Savana 2500 and 3500 passenger and cargo vans with 6.0L engines. (Contact sales@baytechcorp.com for specific model options available.)
“Our lineup of CNG fueled GM, Isuzu, and Workhorse vehicles and engines cover a very broad range of customer applications, and pickups and vans are clearly an important part of our market,” says Richard Turner, Baytech’s vice president.
Baytech’s 2009 dedicated CNG pickups and vans are certified to California Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle standards, allowing them carpool lane access in California. Baytech also offers EPA-certified dual fuel (CNG or gasoline) versions of the 2009 pickups that are available in states that do not require CARB certification.
The CNG systems incorporate Baytech’s gaseous fuel sequential Multi-Point Fuel Injection system technology. Baytech’s CNG engine calibration software is fully integrated with the vehicle’s control system to achieve high performance and low emissions, and engine diagnostics functions are accessed via standard gasoline scanner tools.
