Azuga, an instant-install cloud-based GPS fleet tracking and driver behavior solution, announced that it has secured its 100th customer. Customers include delivery, service and repair, landscaping, security, plumbing and electrical contractors. These companies have seen how Azuga is revolutionizing fleet telematics with breakthrough pricing, lifetime hardware warranties and no contracts – all industry firsts.
Knowing a vehicle’s location allows business owners to choose the best routes, saving time, avoiding high fuel costs and reducing excessive mileage. In the past, many companies invested in traditional GPS systems that required expensive hardware, hard-to-schedule and expensive installation, and long contracts with high recurring monthly costs. Even with those investments, there was no visibility to actual fuel used, vehicle health and risky driver behavior patterns. Azuga’s instant-install OBDII device can begin in as little as 22 seconds, while allowing companies to track their fleets for just 70 cents per day per vehicle (price includes GPS tracking device).
Powered by Azuga’s G2TM technology, the device “reads” vehicles’ engine data up to 60 times more often than standard GPS tracking systems and sends data to the cloud, giving fleet administrators real-time snapshots of vehicle health, fuel usage, Carbon footprint and driver behavior.
“We are very pleased with the growth we have experienced since partnering with Azuga,” said Remy Cano, president of Northwest Tank. “ We took one look at Azuga’s pricing and switched over from our current GPS provider. With Azuga, we’re able to accurately track our drivers, maximize our available workforce, save on fuel costs, correct driving behavior and service more customers per shift.”
“Cloud-based software management and GPS device hardware have both experienced significant cost savings in the last three years. The industry has not passed on these savings to customers and continues to inflict punishing contracts and high monthly recurring costs,” said Ananth Rani, vice president and general manager of Azuga. “Azuga was created to shake-up the industry and we’re pleased to see the rapid adoption by customers.”
“There has been increasing interest from fleet managers to use data from the diagnostic port for monitoring driver behavior and optimizing fuel consumption,” said Clem Driscoll of C.J. Driscoll & Associates, a marketing and research firm serving consumer and commercial markets for GPS-based products and services. “Demand for cost-effective systems that can provide this data is expected to grow among fleet operators of all sizes.”
Azuga is led by a team of industry veterans with experience at Ford, GM, AT&T, Oracle, Xora, Telenav and Qualcomm. Azuga’s parent company, Danlaw, Inc. manufactures Azuga’s OBDII device, ensuring hardware performance that’s trusted by top insurance companies. More than 500,000 devices have been installed in the field. For each product sold, Azuga donates a portion to a charity of the customer's choice – several large organizations like the Leukemia and Lymphoma foundation, American Diabetes Association, World Vision and Save The Children have benefited from these contributions.
