Auto Truck Group, a work truck upfitter specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of equipment, today announced that Dennis Jones, vice president of sales and marketing, plans to retire at year’s end after more than 29 years with the company.
“I can say without any hesitation that Auto Truck Group would not be among the leaders in this industry today without the selfless contributions of Denny Jones during the course of the last 29 years,” said Jim Dondlinger, president, Auto Truck Group. “Denny’s unwavering dedication and leadership throughout his career was greatly appreciated and we will miss his involvement. Denny will forever be a part of the Auto Truck Group family.”
Jones joined Auto Truck Group in 1986 as General Manager and was instrumental in establishing the company’s first ship-through facility in Roanoke, Indiana. The ship-through capabilities of Auto Truck Group remain a hallmark of the company to this day. In 2000, Jones was promoted to his current position as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. During his tenure as Vice President, Jones helped to grow the sales and marketing department to more than 50 individuals. Jones, a 42 year veteran of the industry, also served on the board of the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) from 2003 through 2009 including a term as President in 2008 - 2009.
“As I look back on my nearly 30 year career with Auto Truck Group, I take great pride in the world-class organization we built together and will enjoy watching as the next generation continues to grow and evolve the business,” said Jones. “And though I am thoroughly looking forward to retirement, I will truly miss the deep-rooted personal connections I have forged with so many of my colleagues and peers from across the industry.”
Following his retirement, effective January 6, 2016, Denny plans to travel and spend time with his family while also devoting more time to some of his favorite hobbies including fly fishing and home brewing.
