Advanced Disposal, a privately-owned environmental services and solid waste company, has signed an agreed with Lytx to deploy the DriveCam video-based safety solution in its 2,800 advanced disposal vehicles.
Following Advanced Disposal’s large expansion in 2012, the company decided to expand its use of the DriveCam Program across its entire fleet and add Lytx’s fleet tracking solution to maximize fuel efficiency and productivity. Advanced Disposal services more than 2.3 million residential customers, as well as more than 302,000 commercial, industrial, and construction customers. The company collects over 7 million tons of waste annually.
“DriveCam has been an excellent training tool for our company. It has helped our drivers improve their skills and further enforces our companies ‘Service First. Safety Always.’ culture,” said Richard Burke, president of Advanced Disposal. “We are excited about the improved safety results that will be gained by rolling out this tool to our entire collection fleet.”
DriveCam powered by Lytx improves safety by combining video with predictive analytics, real-time driver feedback and coaching, resulting in reductions in collision-related costs and improved miles per gallon (mpg), according to Lytx. Using the patented Lytx Engine, the DriveCam Program identifies and prioritizes risk so the carrier can focus on the drivers who need the most coaching. The end-to-end workflow makes managing the program easy and drives results by tracking both driving and coaching improvement.
An in-vehicle device captures driving behavior events, which are reviewed and scored by trained professionals, and then passed on to the fleet for use in coaching drivers.
