Embarking on a cross-country journey in a remarkable 103-year-old Ford Model T, Todd Touchberry is on a mission beyond his vehicle's vintage allure.

Touchberry's Transcontinental Trek in a Classic Ford

For the Touchberry family, there are no limits when it comes to supporting their daughter and raising awareness for hydrocephalus. The East Coast departure is just the beginning of a 13-day expedition, with the West Coast serving as their destination.

Their ambitious goal? To surpass the existing 14-day record, transforming this journey into a captivating narrative of determination and compassion.

This road trip is not just about clocking miles; it sheds light on hydrocephalus nationwide. The commitment to generate funds and awareness for hydrocephalus research is at the heart of their adventure.

Cross-Country Drive for Hydrocephalus Awareness

With a target of raising at least $10 per mile, the Touchberry family aims to contribute to critical research that can make a difference in the lives of those affected by hydrocephalus.

Hydrocephalus, a condition without a cure, often requires invasive brain surgery for treatment. Shunting excess cerebrospinal fluid is a common surgical approach, albeit with one of the highest failure rates among medical devices.

The statistics underscore the urgency of the Touchberry family's mission. Approximately 10,000 pediatric hospital admissions occur each year due to shunt malfunctions, revealing the challenges faced by those living with hydrocephalus.

A lifetime marked by multiple brain surgeries is not uncommon, with dozens being routine and surpassing 100 not unheard of.

As Todd Touchberry's vintage Ford cruises across America, it symbolizes not just a historic vehicle but a beacon of hope, rallying support for hydrocephalus research and the quest for a cure.

The Touchberry family's journey is a testament to the power of compassion, determination, and the enduring spirit of a community united for a cause.
