Hitting the Road: Looking Forward to the Green Fleet Conference
It's my favorite time of year! No, not the holidays - travel season! And what a better way to kick it off then by attending our very own Green Fleet Conference Oct. 3-4 out in Dallas.
It's my favorite time of year! No, not the holidays - travel season! And what a better way to kick it off then by attending our very own Green Fleet Conference Oct. 3-4 out in Dallas.
Just looking through the sessions I think truck fleets will get a lot of use out of most of the sessions, but a few in particular are listed below:
Monday, Oct. 3, 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Opening Keynote:Creating the Technology and Using it in Fleet Operations
As both a leading provider of battery power solutions and an operator of a large commercial fleet, Johnson Controls is in a unique position to gain valuable insights by deploying various green vehicle technologies in its own fleet. What are the current electric vehicle technologies that work best, what is currently available for fleet applications and what technologies are coming to the market soon?
Keynote Speaker:John Schaaf, Johnson Controls, Inc.Monday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
Building a CNG Infrastructure for Both Public and Private Use
This presentation will provide information regarding the city of Columbus' path towards providing the first and largest sustainable CNG fueling infrastructure in central Ohio. The CNG station also provides access to private fleets for the citizens of the Columbus area.
Presenter:Bill Burns, City of Columbus, OhioTuesday, Oct 4, 9:55 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
How to Become Green Fleet Certified
This session will present the Coalition for Green Fleet Management's Green Fleet Certification program in detail. The presentation will walk attendees through each step of the process needed to become certified. The certification program contains five levels of certification, allowing any fleet, regardless of size and budget limitations, to become certified and get recognized for their achievements. The program is being released for the first time at this conference.
Presenter:James Wright, Fleet Counselor Services Inc.
Plus, OEMs will be talking about future product plans (a must see!), grant & funding opportunities will be shared, and tips on how to determine the right alternative fuel for your fleet will be shared.
The sessions look to be a lot of fun and I'm getting some interviews set up with a few of the vendors. Plus, I'll be working on the daily conference show recap so keep your eyes peeled to www.greenfleetconference.com.
If you're going to be at the conference, look for me and stop and say hi. I'd love to hear what's going on in your truck fleets, ideas you might have for this blog, or anything you'd like to see in future issues of Work Truck.
Hope to see you in Dallas!!
