FORD CITY, PA – For Sean and Yvette Beck, family owned and operated has taken on an entirely new meaning since opening Armstrong Truck & Tractor on their farm in Armstrong County, Pa. Armstrong Truck & Tractor began with the intention to offer homeowners, hobby farmers, farmers and landscapers with dependable and trustworthy sales, parts and service of new and used equipment and supplies.

“Having our business located where we live is a great benefit,” says owner, Sean Beck.  “It allows us to keep overhead costs down and provide our customers with the most competitive prices possible.”  Since 2004, the company has maintained a down-home, country store atmosphere, selling a wide range of equipment and supplies including tractors, UTV’s backhoes, mowers, loaders, hay equipment, and hardware.

The rural location of the dealership has come to define it over the years.  What many may have seen as a hindrance, Sean and Yvette Beck saw as an advantage.  Being in a rural area has helped their business tremendously because the Beck’s farm property allows customers to test equipment on site, before they make a purchase.  The company prides itself on spending time with each customer, and having a conversation with everyone that walks through the door.

“Generally, when people come to our store they want to have someone spend time with them, listen to their needs and answer questions,” says Yvette Beck.  “We are known for that here and customers appreciate us for it.  We try to make every customer’s buying experience a pleasant one.”

What began as a small company with only two employees has grown into a thriving dealership.  Every aspect of the company has expanded since the early days, from their stock of equipment, to their staff and customer base.  However, what hasn’t changed is the company’s commitment to their customers.  Armstrong Truck & Tractor continues to offer sales, parts and service, but on a much larger scale.

“People are often surprised at the amount of equipment we have in stock,” says Sean Beck.  “And if by chance we don’t have what a customer is looking for, we will do everything we can to get it for them.”

In 2006, the Becks made the decision to take on the KIOTI line of tractors, a decision they continue to be proud of.  Since becoming a dealer for KIOTI, Armstrong Truck & Tractor has more than doubled their yearly sales of the brand and this year is shaping up to be their best year ever.  Armstrong Truck & Tractor’s most popular KIOTI models vary from year to year, but KIOTI tractors have always been their best-selling line.

“KIOTI builds an exceptional product.  It’s durable and efficient at a competitive price.  Once we let our customers know what the KIOTI brand has to offer, deciding which tractor to buy is an easy decision for them,” states Sean Beck.

The Beck’s are confident that KIOTI’s market share in their area will continue to increase in the coming years.  Armstrong Truck & Tractor participates annually in three county fairs where they display KIOTI equipment and educate attendees about KIOTI products.  “We like being able to connect with people and they love being able to try out some of our equipment,” says Yvette Beck.  “There is never a shortage of interest in KIOTI tractors.”

Armstrong Truck & Tractor was named a KIOTI Million Dollar Dealer for the first time in 2010 and is on track to earn this award in 2012 as well.  The company has also been named a distinguished KIOTI 5-PAW Dealer since 2011.  5-PAW Dealers excel in sales, service & parts, customer satisfaction, issue resolution and facility appearance.

Sean and Yvette Beck attribute much of their company’s success with the KIOTI Tractor line to KIOTI’s product support staff.

“They are an easy company to work with and there is always someone there to help us,” says Yvette Beck.  “KIOTI’s ability to deliver parts to our dealership quickly and provide support in a timely manner is essential in keeping our customers satisfied.”

Are You Tracking Your Fleet's True Total Cost of Ownership?

Bobit Business Media surveyed 190 fleet professionals and found that while most fleets are tracking costs, fragmented systems and data gaps are keeping true TCO visibility out of reach. See how your peers are managing costs today and where the industry still has room to improve.
