MANCHESTER, NH – Cadec Global, a provider of fleet management systems, has launched PowerVue, a trucking industry service oriented architecture (SOA)-based hosted fleet management solution. Designed to enable companies to maximize the business value of their fleets, Cadec’s PowerVue helps fleet managers address challenges such as:

  • Improving efficiency and reducing costs by integrating actionable fleet information with existing routing, mapping, and supply chain management software.
  • Creating dashboards of relevant information for each stakeholder in the supply chain — from dispatcher to fleet manager to CEO to customer.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations by automating paper-based administrative processes such as DOT logs and fuel tax.
  • Visibility into driver safety data including speed, route/location, and idle time.
  • Meeting and exceeding customer service expectations. PowerVue adds a level of intelligence by combining the most advanced onboard computer system with a Web-based, enterprise-class data management application. This enables PowerVue to translate vast amounts of fleet data collected from each vehicle into actionable information that can be leveraged throughout the supply chain. PowerVue users can create role-based dashboards to present data to different types of stakeholders within the organization and even create customer service portals for their clients to view real-time information on when to expect their deliveries, including a map that tracks truck locations. PowerVue is comprised of several components:
  • PowerVue Office: A Web-based, enterprise-class fleet management application platform that provides a real-time interface and central repository for all mobile asset data. Leveraging an SOA design, PowerVue is based on technologies from Oracle, Microsoft, HP, and EMC, and is hosted at a Tier 1, SAS70-compliant facility for maximum security, scalability, and reliability.
  • PowerVue Advanced Applications: Designed to extend and enhance the functionality of PowerVue based on specific industry/business requirements, these add-on applications include temperature tracking, door tracking, power take-off tracking, and trailer validation.
  • PowerVue Bridge: A Web-services integration framework that provided unlimited application integration capability based on industry-standard, XML-based technology. With PowerVue Bridge, fleet data can be tied to other systems in a company’s supply chain — for example, dispatch, routing, fuel tax, DOT compliance, and supply chain management applications.
  • PowerVue On-board Computer: The PowerVue OBC is a new two-piece design running Microsoft Windows CE 5.x. with a separate, seven-inch, color touch-screen driver interface. This combination enables it to collect driver, vehicle, route, and delivery information in real time and wirelessly transmit data to a central data center. Cadec will publicly demonstrate PowerVue for the first time at the IFDA-sponsored Foodservice Distribution Conference & Expo, taking place Oct. 7-9 at Kentucky International Convention Center, Louisville, Ky. Cadec will also demonstrate PowerVue at the ATA 2007 Management Conference & Exhibition, taking place Oct. 20-23 at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Conference Center. On Nov. 1, 2007 at 1p.m. Eastern, Cadec will host a free Webinar on PowerVue. For more information on PowerVue, visit www.cadec.com.
