Work Truck is continuing its monthly video interview series, Shades of Fleet, highlighting the people who keep the fleet industry moving every day.
May’s theme, Veterans in Fleet, explores how military experience translates into leadership, discipline, and decision-making across fleet operations. From the motor pool to modern fleet management, veterans bring a level of structure, accountability, and mission-first thinking that continues to shape how work gets done.
This month is about the transition. What carries over, what changes, and what catches you off guard. It’s about leadership under pressure, building trust with a team, and how military training shows up in day-to-day fleet roles. It’s also about the skills that don’t always make it onto a resume but make a real difference on the job.
Participate in May Shades of Fleet (Veterans in Fleet) Today!
Participants will record a short video interview using guided prompts and a simple recording link. No special setup required. Can't access the link? Email Lauren Fletcher.
Veterans working across fleet roles, as well as those who transitioned from military service into the industry, are invited to participate. Know someone with a military background who’s now in fleet? Send this their way.
