Job Creation and Local Support

The expansion is expected to create about 50 new jobs. The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board approved loan and tax incentives through its High-Quality Jobs program to support the project.

ContiTech’s Mount Pleasant facility, established in 1977, currently employs more than 220 people and produces hoses for a variety of industrial applications.

Focus on Production Efficiency

The new facility will enhance ContiTech’s ability to produce essential components such as hoses and belts that support industrial flow and conveyance.

“At ContiTech, this investment allows us to better serve customers through improved efficiency and faster response times,” said Andreas Gerstenberger, CEO of ContiTech USA and head of Business Area Industrial Solutions Americas. “It also reinforces our operational capabilities and supply chain resilience.”

New Compounding Center

The Mount Pleasant expansion will include two advanced mixing lines and an automated warehouse designed to improve quality and throughput. The new compounding center will optimize ContiTech’s North American mixing operations and support future growth.

The mixers will be engineered to handle high shear forces and temperatures, ensuring consistent quality in rubber-based compounds used for extrusion, molding, and calendaring.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026. The Mount Pleasant site will continue to play a key role in ContiTech’s global supply chain, serving industrial customers across multiple markets.
