A new anthem titled “Highway Dreaming” will debut on digital music platforms Monday, Sept. 15. Written and produced by Alabama-based musicians Heroes of the Highway and performed with country group Sweet Tea Trio, the song pays tribute to professional truck drivers.
The release coincides with National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Sept. 14–20, 2025.
Project Origins
The collaboration began after the Alabama Trucking Association’s annual convention last May, where Sweet Tea Trio performed the national anthem. Following the performance, ATA Director of Advocacy & Marketing Josh Vaughn proposed a project to honor drivers.
With support from songwriter Will Stewart and other Alabama musicians, the song was recorded at Cypress Moon Studios in Sheffield, Alabama.
Music and Video
The lyrics highlight the pride and resilience of drivers, with lines such as “turning miles right into money.” Vaughn, who directed the accompanying video, said, “This song is more than just music — it’s a tribute to the men and women who deliver for their families, communities, and the nation every day.”
The video shows Sweet Tea Trio recording in the studio along with real trucking families. Blair Logistics driver Jeremy Johnson and his family, along with ATA President Mark Colson’s daughter, Liv, are featured.
About the Performers
Sweet Tea Trio, consisting of Kate Falcon, Taylor Morrison, and Savannah Sawyer, has roots in Alabama and has opened for acts such as Bon Jovi, Alabama, and Kid Rock.
Availability
Highway Dreaming is available on all major streaming platforms. The official video can be viewed at HighwayDreaming.com and on Sweet Tea Trio’s YouTube channel.
