Early Monday morning, July 29, 2024, a fire broke out at Legend Fleet Solutions' headquarters in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada.
Despite the blaze, which was contained to a storage building, Legend Fleet's team quickly mobilized and resumed near full production within a day at their facility.
"We are exceptionally grateful everyone is safe," said Brendan Church, Chief Marketing Officer for Legend Fleet Solutions. "We want to thank all the first responders who helped contain the situation so quickly."
Fire departments from multiple surrounding communities, including Bayham, Tillsonburg, and Elgin County, worked together to control the fire. In addition, a national charity supported by Legend Fleet, RRT, provided refreshments for the first responders during the incident.
Legend Fleet's on-site fire suppression systems were integral to containing the initial spread of the fire. Thanks to these systems and the rapid response of local firefighters, no one was injured, and damage was minimized to only one building.
The "legendary response" from everyone involved resulted in Legend Fleet having already re-geared its production facility and being quickly back to full production. Clean-up efforts are nearly complete, allowing the company to focus on returning to its mission of supporting upfitters across North America. The fire happened just one week after the company moved into its new offices.
"The support from our employees, suppliers, and customers has been remarkable and inspiring," Church said. "The loyalty and dedication of our team allowed us to get back on track so quickly, and the outpouring of support from upfitters has been incredible."
Legend Fleet encourages others in the industry to prioritize fire suppression systems and ensure that safety and crisis response training is current.
"We look forward to continuing to make lives better for the Legends of the Road," Church concluded.
