The official magazine of the Women In Trucking Association (WIT), Redefining the Road, has unveiled the recipients of the 2023 “Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation.”
Brian Everett, the publisher of Redefining the Road, highlighted several distinguishing factors of the recognized companies. These criteria encompass:
Supportive corporate cultures promoting gender diversity.
Competitive compensation packages.
Flexible work hours.
Professional growth prospects.
Opportunities for career advancement.
Additionally, companies must meet specified benchmarks in the WIT Index, which tracks the percentage of women in pivotal roles in the transportation sector.
Redefining the Road stated that inclusion in this list requires companies to exhibit key attributes essential for successful enterprises committed to gender diversity in their corporate strategies.
The selection process involves a meticulous two-step procedure initial company nominations undergo rigorous evaluation against minimum qualifications, followed by a final voting stage by industry professionals.
This year’s program, in its sixth iteration, attracted a record-breaking 27,000 votes to ascertain and validate the chosen companies.
The selected list represents a broad spectrum of businesses within the commercial freight transportation arena, spanning motor carriers, third-party logistics firms, and original equipment manufacturers.
