At Work Truck Week, TigerTough had a simple challenge on display: tear their seat cover fabric and win a free hat. Sounds easy enough, right?
Naturally, we had to give it a shot.
What followed was about a minute of pure determination, questionable technique, and a whole lot of not tearing anything. Lauren Fletcher, VP of content and Work Truck lead editor, took the first attempt, confident she could get things started. After some aggressive pulling and what can only be described as “creative strategy,” the fabric remained… completely intact.
Enter Jonathan Robbins, Work Truck's videographer.
With a supposed “head start” (according to Fletcher), he stepped in ready to finish the job. The result? More effort, better try faces, and still no victory. At one point, elbows were suggested. At another, we debated whether we had made progress at all. (We’re generously calling it about a centimeter.)
In the end, the outcome was clear: Tiger Tough lives up to the name.
While this was all in good fun, it’s also a pretty telling real-world demonstration of durability. For fleets, seat covers aren’t just about appearance; they’re about protecting interiors from constant wear, tear, and daily abuse. If this material can survive two determined attempts like this, it’s a safe bet it can handle the job it’s designed for.
Watch the full clip above to see how it all played out. And yes… the hat remains unclaimed.
