Behind the Scenes: Building the Ringmaster of the Road from Body to Paint Part 2
The body is built, the paint is on, and Team Fletcher’s Soap Box Derby car is nearly ready for testing ahead of race day in Akron.
Team Fletcher’s Soap Box Derby car has officially gone from a working chassis to the Ringmaster of the Road.
In this episode, Lauren takes on the next major phase of the build by constructing the body, fitting the panels, and bringing the circus-inspired design to life with its bold red-and-white paint scheme. With every cut, adjustment, and coat of paint, the car moves another step closer to the starting line.
Now that the body is built and painted, the next challenge is testing. Team Fletcher still needs to see how the car handles, make any final adjustments, and prepare it for the trip to Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio.
Follow along behind the scenes as the build enters its final stretch ahead of the 2026 International Soap Box Derby Corporate Derby Challenge. The Ringmaster of the Road is nearly race-ready, and from here, it is all downhill to the finish line!
