Work Truck Takes Fleet Rivalry Downhill to Support Skilled Trades
Team Fletcher claimed a head-to-head win and second overall as Work Truck and Automotive Fleet helped raise $22,000 for the Hourglass Foundation.
Fleet vehicles usually have a job to do. This time, the assignment was getting down a hill faster than Automotive Fleet, with a little friendly competition helping support future careers in the skilled trades.
Work Truck’sLauren Fletcher and Automotive Fleet’s Chris Brown brought their rivalry to Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio, for the International Soap Box Derby Corporate Derby Challenge, presented by Bobit Business Media. After months of preparation, car builds, and plenty of race-day anticipation, Team Fletcher won the head-to-head matchup against Team Brown and finished second overall.
Together, the teams raised $22,000 for the Hourglass Foundation, which helps young people, veterans, women, and career changers pursue opportunities in the skilled trades. For a fleet community that depends on technicians to keep vehicles working, that connection gives the competition a purpose well beyond bragging rights.
