Every year, Work Truck celebrates the trucks, vans, and upfits that keep fleets moving with three major honors: Medium-Duty Truck of the Year, Commercial Van of the Year, and the Upfit Package of the Year. These awards are more than just titles — they reflect the input of the professionals who use these vehicles and solutions every day.
In this video, Lauren Fletcher takes you behind the scenes of the award process and explains how each category comes together:
Medium-Duty Truck of the Year (VOTING OPEN FOR 2026 NOW!)
All major OEMs are invited to nominate their leading medium-duty models. Fleet managers, operators, and decision makers then vote based on key factors such as performance, reliability, maintenance, quality, and total cost of ownership. Finalists are announced early in the year, with the winner revealed live at Work Truck Week.Commercial Van of the Year (VOTING OPEN FOR 2026 NOW!)
OEMs nominate their top commercial vans, with voters evaluating real-world criteria like durability, driver comfort, safety, and value. Like the truck award, finalists are named early in the year, with the winning van honored during Work Truck Week.Upfit Package of the Year
In partnership with Legend Fleet Solutions, upfitters submit real-world builds that turn trucks, vans, and SUVs into fully functional tools on wheels. Fleets vote across three categories — truck, van, and SUV — and the winners are recognized live at Work Truck Week.
Beyond the awards ceremony, Work Truck’s editorial team delivers in-depth coverage, highlighting not just the winners but also the stories and solutions behind the builds. Every vote matters because it comes directly from the professionals who rely on these vehicles and packages to get the job done.
These awards are built on fleet experience, shaped by industry voices, and focused on recognizing the tools and solutions that move fleets forward.
