“The Jasper-engineered pistons feature a smooth, fully machined, anodized crown that acts as a thermal barrier, helping reduce carbon buildup,” said Brad Boeglin, Jasper new product development group leader. “We’ve added additional oil return holes, 12 in all, to improve oil drain back and transitioned from a three-piece low-tension oil ring to a two-piece diesel-style. This change reduces the risk of oil rings from sticking and results in lower oil consumption.”

“We’ve made significant improvements in sealing between the head and block,” Boeglin said. “The head gasket has been redesigned with a ‘D’ shape to provide a better seal between cylinders. In addition, steel inserts are CNC-installed into the block to increase durability and better handle the high clamping forces from the head bolts.”
