All current models of BendPak’s Ranger Division of wheel balancers and tire changers have been ETL certified to meet applicable UL and CSA safety standards in the United States and Canada. Intertek Testing Services, a nationally recognized test lab, independently vetted the equipment and validated that it meets all electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical safety requirements to ensure operator protection and workplace compliance.

Certification marked the culmination of an 18-month BendPak project to overhaul and redesign critical internal components and safety systems to meet the stringent standards. The effort involved sweeping upgrades to electrical architecture, structural components, and mechanical and pneumatic systems.

Focused on Operator Safety

BendPak said operator safety was a major focus throughout the project. Pinch-point protection, moving components, electrical and fire hazards, pressure systems, and other potential risks encountered during everyday tire and wheel service were carefully assessed. Where existing designs did not meet the required criteria, components were redesigned or replaced, systems were reconfigured, and additional safeguards were incorporated.

Every modification then had to withstand rigorous testing before the finished equipment could achieve certification.

“The end result is not just a certification mark,” says Jeff Kritzer, BendPak president and CEO. “Certification represents a fundamentally higher level of product engineering, component quality, mechanical and electrical safety, durability, and overall North American compliance, giving customers confidence that their Ranger equipment is built to the highest standards.”

Certified Ranger wheel service equipment includes:

  • DST30PX professional wheel balancer
  • LS45DS Laser-Spot sonar wheel balancer
  • RB30T heavy-duty truck and passenger car wheel balancer
  • DST2420X passenger car wheel balancer
  • R745 swing-arm tire changer
  • R980XR swing-arm tire changer
  • R76ATR single-tower tilt-back tire changer
  • R980DP dual-assist swing-arm tire changer
  • R80EX dual-tower tilt-back tire changer
  • R26FLT heavy-duty truck tire changer
  • Certified equipment is identified by the ETL mark displayed on the product label.
