Polyvance, a leading manufacturer of plastic repair and refinishing products, has introduced a new Peterbilt 567 Hood Strut Mount Repair Kit designed specifically for Peterbilt 567 trucks equipped with the Short Hood and Set-Back Front Axle (SBFA) configuration.

The kit provides a repair solution for broken and cracked hood strut mounting points, which Polyvance said is a common failure area that can otherwise leave truck owners and repair facilities facing the significant expense and downtime associated with replacing an entire hood.

Rather than replacing the hood due to a localized strut-mount failure, Polyvance’s new repair kit allows technicians to remove the damaged strut mount and install reinforced cast-aluminum replacement mounts. The repair restores the hood strut attachment points while distributing loads across a larger area than the original mounting points.

“Replacing an otherwise serviceable heavy-truck hood because of a broken mounting point is exactly the kind of problem we want to solve,” said John Pennycuff, chief revenue officer of Polyvance. “Our goal with these kits is to give truck owners, fleets, dealers, and repair facilities a practical alternative that can dramatically reduce repair costs and get the truck back into service faster.”

What the Kit Includes

Each Peterbilt 567 Hood Strut Mount Repair Kit includes cast aluminum repair mounts for both the driver and passenger sides, Polyvance PlastiFix High-Performance Adhesive, mixer tips, and the necessary installation hardware.

The Peterbilt 567 kit expands Polyvance’s growing line of model-specific heavy-truck hood repair solutions.

The company said it develops its hood repair kits around common failure points where repairing a relatively small, damaged area can prevent the unnecessary replacement of a much larger and significantly more expensive hood assembly.
