Global commerce platform WEX and Chargie, a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, have partnered to simplify operations for EV fleets nationwide. The collaboration combines WEX's advanced fleet payment and management platforms with Chargie's leading-edge EV charging hardware, software, and service solutions, creating an ecosystem that simplifies the transition to EVs.

How the WEX-Chargie Partnership Works

With the partnership, Chargie will continue to design, install, and support Level 2 and Level 3 EV charging solutions for various fleet use cases across commercial and government sectors. The charging stations will be integrated with WEX's payment platform, enabling drivers to make secure, touchless payments with WEX charge cards and fleet operators to analyze reports and invoices seamlessly.

"Our integration with Chargie marks a significant expansion of our EV network and is a big win for fleet operators," said Jay Collins, SVP and general manager, EV & Mobility, at WEX. "The addition of our payment processing technology by syncing transaction details and RFID numbers from their charging stations streamlines the EV charging experience and empowers organizations to make smarter decisions.

WEX Study: 80% of Fleets Want 25% EVs by 2030

As the transportation sector shifts toward electric vehicles, businesses and government agencies are increasingly exploring mixed-energy and fully electric fleets to reduce emissions, optimize costs, and improve performance.

In a recent study commissioned by WEX and performed by market research firm Frost & Sullivan, 80% of respondents indicated that at least a quarter of their fleets will be comprised of EVs by 2030.

Additionally, WEX said nearly two-thirds of fleet managers noted they have low-carbon goals that need to be met in the same timeframe.

"Fleet electrification is not a distant goal – the transition is already well underway, and we're seeing it across all industries," said Chargie CEO Zach Jennings. "We're proud to work with WEX to take the complexity out of the process for fleet operators. This partnership brings together reliable hardware, best-in-class software, streamlined payment processing, and 24/7 support so organizations can make the switch with confidence."

Are You Tracking Your Fleet's True Total Cost of Ownership?

Bobit Business Media surveyed 190 fleet professionals and found that while most fleets are tracking costs, fragmented systems and data gaps are keeping true TCO visibility out of reach. With rising pressure to control spend in an increasingly volatile environment, the gap between what fleets think they know and what the data actually shows is wider than you might expect. See how your peers are managing costs today and where the industry still has room to improve.
