Build Your Dreams (BYD) was selected by the Utah Clean Cities Coalition (UCC) to showcase its Class 6 electric refuse hauler. The UCC supports organizations and fleets in their efforts to contribute to clean air by reducing vehicle emissions. UCC is actively engaged with advanced fuel projects across the state of Utah. The Work Electric in collaboration with Rocky Mountain Power’s Live Electric program is focused on electric fleets and charging infrastructure and supports public and private fleets.
BYD delivered their battery-electric refuse hauler to the Salt Lake County Environmental garage as part of a special pop-up held in late June. Held in collaboration with UCC’s clean energy partner, Rocky Mountain Power (RMP), the purpose of the event is to promote clean, zero-emissions battery-electric technology for heavy industry. Together, UCC and RMP are advancing Work Electric, a program that empowers sustainability through electric technology adoption by offering incentives for Utah fleets who incorporate electric vehicles and charging infrastructure.
BYD’s Class 6 refuse truck is powered by their proprietary and industry-leading all-electric power source, enabling more than 85 miles of range with minimal battery degradation. The 26,000-pound truck operates with drive-axle integrated, transversely mounted motors and utilizes regenerative breaking to extend battery life.
In addition to providing tremendous environmental and cost saving benefits, BYD’s zero-emission battery-electric trucks offer distinct advantages to communities such as reduced noise pollution. They can be used to replace entire fleets of fossil fuel burning trucks.

Bobit Business Media surveyed 190 fleet professionals and found that while most fleets are tracking costs, fragmented systems and data gaps are keeping true TCO visibility out of reach. With rising pressure to control spend in an increasingly volatile environment, the gap between what fleets think they know and what the data actually shows is wider than you might expect. See how your peers are managing costs today and where the industry still has room to improve.
