Truck-Lite Co., LLC, a provider of LED lighting, telematics, engine protection, safety, and visibility systems, entered an agreement with Star Leasing Company to supply LED lighting and harnessing products as standard equipment on new trailer builds and to integrate the Road Ready telematics system into the fleet's new and existing trailers.

Launched in 2017, Road Ready by Truck-Lite offers fleets a complete overview of a trailer's environment, both inside and out, using a variety of customizable wireless sensors. Long-life batteries allow Road Ready to gather reports on untethered trailers and the intuitive user interface displays trailer location and condition in real time on any device with an internet connection.

"Truck-Lite's relationship with Star Leasing represents the next generation of trailer equipment and fleet management," said Rob Richard, general manager of Truck-Lite's Road Ready division. "In addition to providing premium lighting and harnessing solutions, we're excited to equip Star with total fleet asset visibility through the Road Ready system."

Through the agreement signed in late December 2019, Star will install the Road Ready Master Control Unit (MCU) along with cargo, door and ABS warning sensors on its 20,000+ trailers between 2020 and 2021 and specify Truck-Lite lighting and harnessing solutions on new trailer builds.

According to Star Leasing Company, Road Ready delivers the technology to efficiently and effectively alert their customers to potential maintenance issues before they result in significant downtime for their drivers.

"Star Leasing Company is excited to partner with Road Ready to provide our customers with proactive semi-trailer maintenance solutions," said Chris Cotton, director of maintenance for Star Leasing Company. "Partnering with Road Ready provides Star Leasing - and our customers - with the unique capabilities to proactively and effectively improve transportation performance."
