Louisiana has claimed the top of a list of states with the worst drivers for the second year in a row, according to a study by Car Insurance Comparison.
The study ranks 50 states and the District of Columbia in five categories of bad driving including fatalities rate per 100 million vehicle miles traveled, failure to obey traffic signals and seatbelts, drunk driving, tickets, and careless driving.

The ranking is based on number of offenses related to population. Other states in the top 10 after Louisiana included South Carolina, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina (tied for seventh), Montana, and North Dakota.
Louisiana finished in the top five in three categories including failure to obey, ticketing rate, and careless driving. Florida topped careless driving and Montana was tops in fatalities rate and drunk driving.
