Ford Motor Company announced a few recalls for certain vehicles, while Navistar and Autocar, LLC recalled vehicles due to issues with the connecting rod and tie rod clamps.
Ford announced it is recalling approximately 74 2022 F-150 vehicles. The company said the right-side instrument panel cover may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the airbag to not deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," according to Ford. Dealers will replace the right-side instrument panel cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on October 17, 2022.
Ford announced it is also recalling approximately 69 2022 Explorer and Ranger vehicles equipped with 2.3-liter engines. The fuel line may be loose due to improper tightening of the fuel line connection, according to the company's news release. Ford said it will inspect and replace the fuel line assembly if needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on October 3, 2022.
Ford is recalling approximately 86,050 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 F-150 vehicles. The parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated, according to Ford. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Ford said dealers will replace or reprogram the LED Driver module, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on October 31, 2022.
Navistar announced it is recalling approximately 6,883 2018-2021 International HV, 2018-2020 International HX, 2018-2019 International LT, and International RH vehicles. The connecting rod wrist pin may crack, resulting in connecting rod failure, according to Navistar. Dealers will install new knock detection software to warn the driver prior to engine connecting rod failure, and replace connecting rods as necessary, free of charge, according to the news release. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on November 14, 2022.
Autocar announced it is recalling approximately 236 2022 ACX (Xpeditor) trucks. The tie rod clamps may have been improperly heat-treated, causing them to fail and allowing the tie rods to separate, according to the news release. Autocar said dealers will replace the tie rod clamps, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on November 11, 2022.
