April 2023 had recalls from Navistar, GM, Chrysler, and more.

We rounded up all the work truck recalls for April in one place. If you have any Navistar, General Motors, Daimler, or Alamo vehicles in your fleet, make sure to stay up to date on their latest recalls.

Navistar Recalls

  • Vehicle:

    • 2016-2020 International DuraStar, WorkStar.

    • 2017-2018 International TranStar.

    • 2018 International ProStar.

    • 2020 International HV, MV.

  • Component: Electrical circuit.

  • Breakdown:  The heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning blower motor circuit may have an insufficient wiring terminal that can overheat.

  • Solution: Replace the HVAC blower motor load circuit wiring terminal.

  • Vehicle: 2017-2023 International CV.

  • Component: Parking brake.

  • Breakdown: . The brake pressure switch assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch's electrical components and cause an electrical short-circuit.

  • Solution: Replace the wire harness or fuse, and brake pressure switch assembly if necessary. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete.

Daimler Recalls

  • Vehicle:

    • 2022 FCCC MT45G, S2C 106.

    • 2022-2023 FCCC MT50E, MT55, S2RV Chassis.

    • 2023 Freightliner 108 SD, 114 SD, Cascadia, M2 106, FCCC XCM Chassis, XCR Chassis, XCS Chassis.

    • 2023 Western Star 4700, 47X, 4900, 49X commercial buses.​

  • Component: Steering

  • Breakdown: The tie rod may be missing a fastener, allowing the steer arm to detach and create loos of steering.

  • Solution: The remedy is currently under development.

General Motors Recalls

  • Vehicle:

    • 2003-2023 Chevrolet Express Cutaway.

    • 2003-2023 GMC Savana Cutaway.

  • Component: HVAC blower motor circuit.

  • Breakdown: When the HVAC blower motor circuit is left unused with exposed connectors and wiring, the circuit can corrode and overheat. An overheated electrical circuit increases the risk of a fire.

  • Solution: Properly seal the rear HVAC blower motor circuits at the left side B-pillar.

  • Vehicle: 2019-2023 Chevrolet 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD.

  • Component: Brake pressure sensor.

  • Breakdown: An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.

  • Solution: Park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete.

Michelin Tires Recalls

  • Component: Agilis CrossClimate C-Metric tires, DOT codes 0117 through 1423.

  • Breakdown: The tires are labeled as snow tires but don’t have sufficient traction to perform in all snow weather conditions and can increase risk of a crash.

  • Solution: Replace tires.

Alamo Recalls

  • Vehicle: 2014-2019 Super Products Camel and Mud Dog vehicles. 

  • Component: Water tank strap.

  • Breakdown: The tie rod could disconnect from the water tank strap, allowing the water tank strap to detach from the top of the vehicle. A water tank strap falling to the ground while in transit can become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.

  • Solution: Replace the tank tie rods as necessary.

 Chrysler Recalls

  • Vehicle: 2022 Ram 1500.

  • Component: Airbag.

  • Breakdown: The B-pillar impact sensors may be missing, which can result in delayed air bag deployment or non-deployment.

  • Solution: Install the B-pillar impact sensors if needed.

  • Vehicle: 2021 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with 5.7L eTorque engines.

  • Component: Power train.

  • Breakdown: The powertrain control module software may cause an incorrect fuel mixture condition in the engine, and result in an engine stall.

  • Solution: Update the Powertrain Control Module calibration software.

Mack Trucks Recalls

  • Vehicle: 2023 LR Battery Electric

  • Component: High-voltage battery pack.

  • Breakdown: The coolant line in the high-voltage battery pack may not be fully seated and locked, which can result in the loss of coolant and an electrical short circuit.

  • Solution: Volvo Trucks will work with the battery manufacturer Akasol to inspect and replace the batteries as necessary.

Volvo Trucks North America Recalls

  • Vehicle: 2020-2024 VNR Electric.

  • Component: High-voltage battery pack

  • Breakdown: The coolant line in the high-voltage battery pack may not be fully seated and locked, which can result in the loss of coolant and an electrical short circuit.

  • Solution: Volvo Trucks will work with the battery manufacturer Akasol to inspect and replace the batteries, as necessary.
