FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – Tom Rawson, CEO of RKI Inc. (Houston, Tex.), will be installed as 43rd president of the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA). Rawson will accept the gavel from current President Robert Green, president of Robert Green Truck Division, Inc. (Rock Hill, N.Y.), on Mar. 8, 2007, at the President’s Breakfast and NTEA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis.
Rawson said he was anxious to become involved with the NTEA early in his career to prove that he belonged. Over time, Rawson said his involvement in so many different aspects of the association has helped him gain a greater understanding of what’s happening in the industry.
“Through the NTEA, I’ve gotten to know people and to see other parts of the industry that I may not have otherwise. It’s been a very enriching experience,” he said.
Rawson said that among other valuable and influential programs and services offered by the NTEA, its ability to offer economic forecasting and business practice guidance is especially important as the industry continues to experience consolidation. Likewise, Rawson said the NTEA will continue to be watchful and quick to adjust to changing conditions in order to continue meeting the needs of the members as new challenges arise.
Rawson previously served on the Board from 2000–2003. RKI has been a Manufacturer Member of the NTEA since 1970.
