Oshkosh Corp. is recalling 24 of its 2015 model-year S-Series front discharge concrete mixer glider trucks to address a transmission-related problem that might result in a sudden loss of drive power, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
The trucks, manufactured from Feb. 10-March 20 of this year, have Allison HD4500 transmissions from Valley Truck Parts. These transmissions may be coated with a thick layer of paint on the torque converter to adaptation kit mounting surface, which can soften during vehicle operation, NHTSA said. As a result, the mounting bolts might loosen and the bolts on the torque converter bolt flange might shear.
