Navistar is recalling approximately 33,655 model-year 2022-2023 International HX, HV, LoneStar, LT, MV, RH, IC TC Commercial Bus, and 2022 International WorkStar vehicles due to possible fractured steering gears.
The steering gears may have been assembled incorrectly, which can cause the gear to fracture.
Dealers will inspect the steering gear serial numbers, and replace the steering gears as necessary, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 18, 2022. Navistar's number for this recall is 22513.
Detroit Assurance with Active Break Assist 6 (ABA6) will be standard on Freightliner Cascadias built starting in December 2026 and will feature Cross Traffic Assist and Active Side Guard Assist 2 with left turn protection.
