With driver distraction playing an ever-increasing role in accidents and fatalities, business and consumer demand for in-vehicle real-time safety solutions is on the rise. Innovative Mobileye driver assistance technologies, such as forward collision warning (FCW), headway monitoring (HMW) and lane departure warning (LDW) systems, help alert drivers to potentially life-threatening situations.

The ability to save lives via intelligent vision-based technology is one area that automotive manufacturers, fleet operators, consumers and government agencies like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) agree on as a safety solution. The popularity of Mobileye's technologies is further evidenced by the growing number of OEMs -such as BMW and Volvo- that are integrating the life-saving systems into their vehicles.

The only aftermarket driver safety solution offering the three essential accident-prevention warnings in one unit, Mobileye AWS includes a camera located on the front windshield inside the vehicle and utilizes Mobileye's advanced vision technologies to detect and measure the distance to vehicles and lane markings, providing the driver with timely alerts.

The agreement will provide Al & Ed's customers with immediate access to Mobileye's AWS-4000 and AWS-2000 systems, which offer the most comprehensive and cost-effective accident prevention systems on the market.

Mobileye AWS-4000 is a unique, camera-based safety solution for accident prevention and mitigation, preventing injuries and saving lives. The system includes a camera located on the windshield inside the vehicle and utilizes Mobileye's advanced vision technologies to detect and measure the distance to vehicles and lane markings, providing the driver with: forward collision warning; lane-departure warning; and headway monitoring and warning.

Mobileye AWS-2000 offers audio alerts to ensure safe lane and forward collision warning in the most compact and cost effective product to date. The technology provides: forward collision warning for highway and urban utilization; lane-departure warning, and an option to easily adjust the alerts and volume at any time.

The newly formed alliance "furthers our objective in expanding the accessibility of Mobileye technologies through the world's preeminent retailers, installers and distribution channels," explains Mobileye, Inc. CEO Skip Kinford. "Al & Ed's Autosound has been a fixture in California for more than 50 years. Their customers are truly passionate enthusiasts who will settle for nothing less than the finest aftermarket products and most innovative technologies."
