ORLANDO, FL – Miles Electric Vehicles, maker of an advanced line of low-speed all-electric cars and trucks, debuted its new zero emissions, all-electric ZX40ST truck at the FedFleet Exposition in Orlando, July 24-26. The new open-air work truck is said to cost a fraction to drive and maintain compared to a gas-powered vehicle. A prototype chassis of the ZX40ST will be on display at the FedFleet Expo.
Current Miles Electric Vehicles fleet customers include NASA, the U.S. Navy, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Stanford, UCLA, California State Polytechnic University, and many other organizations.
The steel-frame ZX40ST truck provides safety that exceeds DOT requirements for low-speed vehicles. Powered by a 72-volt battery system, the truck provides 60-70 miles per charge and well over 500 pounds of cargo capacity.
Miles estimates that the ZX40ST will save a typical organization $15,000-$18,000 in lifetime fuel costs for each gas-powered fleet vehicle it replaces, and for each gas-powered truck that’s retired in favor of a ZX40ST, organizations can reduce their overall fleet tailpipe emissions by more than 12,000 pounds per year.
Miles Electric Vehicles fleet customers receive overnight parts delivery, certified service training and materials (through a partnership with the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium), dedicated service through a rapidly growing nationwide dealer network, and full warranty protection for 18 months.
