Commercial and vocational fleet managers have spoken. Recognizing innovation, efficiency, and functionality, Work Truck readers voted on their favorite upfits in the “Truck and SUV” and “Van” categories of the inaugural Upfit Package of the Year Awards, sponsored by Legend Fleet Solutions.
“At the end of the day, it’s all about the people in the vehicles and the brands they represent. We call these people the Legends of the Road. We’re all working to give them a better day – whether that’s our products as a manufacturer, upfitters’ upfitting work – or Work Truck facilitating all of it. We’re tremendously proud to be part of such an interesting industry and support the people doing the work on the road every day. We couldn’t do it without any of these fabulous industry partners, and that is why we’re so excited to be sponsoring the ‘Upfit Package of the Year’s’ first-ever awards!” said Legend Fleet Solutions' Chief Marketing Officer, Brendan Church.
And, in an award sweep, Holman took home the top honors in both categories. The awards will be presented at Work Truck Week 2024 on March 6 at 3:30 p.m. at the Legend Fleet Solutions booth (935). Be sure to stop by!

As consumer priorities and habits change, more automotive repair vendors offer mobile service options. Holman's fleet customers want to convert commercial vans into mobile service centers to bring the repair facility directly to the consumer.
Vehicles such as Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter provide ample space for customization, and Holman has developed several innovative solutions to help customers maximize the potential of these units as mobile service vans.
Each upfit package is designed to provide the maximum amount of work and services that can be performed outside a traditional brick-and-mortar repair facility. The packages include partitions, racks, shelving, modular storage, and workbenches and are customizable to the customer's specific needs and the vehicle's intended functionality.
Additionally, many upfit packages feature specialty tools such as VMAC compressors and Stellar Lube Skid systems, allowing technicians to complete various services such as oil changes, brake services, or tire rotations on location.
All upfit packages are designed to optimize the capabilities of the mobile service van while working within the weight and capacity limits of the vehicle. Holman collaborates closely with its customers, technicians, and other stakeholders to design each unit to ensure no disconnect between what looks good on paper and optimal functionality in the field. The specifications are reviewed regularly, and changes are made where necessary to maximize capabilities and efficiencies further.
Holman expects this market segment to grow as mobile service providers become more popular with consumers and fleet operators. Holman is well-positioned to help its customers transform commercial vans into fully capable mobile service facilities that provide an additional revenue stream for automotive repair vendors.
