Hankook Tire announced that five of its Aurora brand Truck and Bus Radial tires have been SmartWay verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay Technology Program.
The tires verified by the program include the Aurora UF03 (Long Haul Steer), UF04 (Regional Steer/All-Position), UF07 (Long Haul Trailer), UZ02 (Closed Shoulder Driver Position) and UZ03 (Open Shoulder Drive Position).
This verification recognizes the five patterns as low rolling resistance tires which provide fuel savings and/or emission reduction benefits for fleet customers. SmartWay verification for the tires was received in May of this year.
“Having five of our Aurora brand TBR tires verified by the EPA’s SmartWay Technology Program is an impressive acknowledgement of Hankook’s commitment to designing and manufacturing the type of high quality, low rolling resistance, fuel efficient and affordable tires fleets are looking for,” said Brian Sheehey, Hankook Tire America Corp. director of commercial tire sales. “Fuel efficiency is incredibly important to fleet customers where every penny saved is reflected in their bottom-line. We are happy to receive this news and even more pleased to be able to provide these products to fleet customers.”
Hankook’s Aurora brand offers 9 truck tire patterns as well as five passenger car and light truck patterns throughout its dealer network in the United States, providing coverage for a wide range of truck, bus, passenger car and light truck tire applications.
