As more companies focus on becoming Net Zero, Dallas-based GreenPath Logistics (GPL) has announced plans to double the size of its alternative-fuel fleet. According to the company, this will help customers reduce carbon emissions by up to 85%. GPL also plans to hire up to 200 new employees this year to support business growth. Available positions include alternative-fuel truck drivers, dispatchers, and technicians.
GPL launched in 2020 as a subsidiary of NGV Global Group and is a privately-owned, 100% alternative-fuel transportation company in the Unites States. The GPL fleet currently includes 200 medium-duty and heavy-duty commercial trucks that operate on compressed natural gas and renewable natural gas, as well as hybrid electric vehicles. GPL is deploying 15 to 20 new vehicles in its fleet each month and will roll out fully electric powertrain commercial trucks in early 2023 through a partnership with Hyliion Holdings Corp.
“We are seeing more Fortune 500 companies interested in ‘green’ transportation solutions as they look for strategies to reduce carbon emissions and improve their ESG scores,” said Shan Zaidi, president of NGV Global Group. “Our business has grown exponentially in the past year with daily customer shipments increasing by 900% since 2021. We are committed to deploying the latest technologies in our fleet – from natural gas to hybrid electric to fully electric – to ensure that we are providing a variety of reliable, cost-effective and sustainable transportation solutions to meet the unique needs of each customer.”
GPL opened a Houston location in November 2021 and added 140 new positions last year to support its expanding service area, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico.
