Chemung County Trucks to Run on Propane
ELMIRA, NY - Chemung County is using Federal stimulus money to help convert some county vans and trucks to run on liquid propane.
ELMIRA, NY - Chemung County is using Federal stimulus money to help convert some county vans and trucks to run on liquid propane, according to WENY.com.
County officials expect the move to help reduce greenhouse emissions and create jobs.
Chemung County will use its share of the stimulus money to convert eight of its building and ground trucks to propane and buy two new propane-powered trucks. Ferrario Ford will re-fit the county fleet at $10,000 per unit, according to WENY.
The grant also gives the dealership money for five more propane pickups and a propane fueling station, reported WENY.
