A national bakery company has placed the first orders for the AMP/Workhorse E-100.
AMP Holding, Inc. has announced that its AMP Trucks subsidiary has received an initial purchase order for Workhorse E-100 Walk-In Vans from a national bakery company. The Workhorse Electric Vans have a range of up to 100 miles and will be built on the renowned W62 chassis.
"These vehicles are particularly well-suited for the stop and go nature of route delivery," said Steve Burns, CEO of AMP/Workhorse. "With electric cost of approximately $0.11 per mile, these trucks are remarkably cost-efficient, dependable, zero-emission vehicles."
Marty Rucidlo, President of AMP/Workhorse added, "Our customer has one of the largest private fleets in the country and we appreciate the confidence they have shown in working with us."
AMP/Workhorse will build the new chassis and install the battery electric drive train at its Union City, Ind., assembly plant. In addition to battery electric power, AMP can also equip its Workhorse chassis with gasoline, propane, or CNG engines.
The Workhorse E-100 All-Electric Walk-In Van is approved for incentive funding through the NYSERDA program in New York State and the HVIP program in California. These incentive programs make the cost of a Workhorse all-electric truck on par with traditional diesel trucks, thereby offering great savings on fuel for the life of the truck, according to the company.
