BAF and Landi Renzo Annouce EPA Certifications for CNG Conversions

BAF received approvals from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and Landi Renzo said it has also received EPA approval for its 2013 vehicle lineup.

Two clean energy companies announced approvals for their compressed natural gas (CNG) systems on their 2013-MY vehicle lineups.

BAF

BAF announced it has received approvals from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) for its 2013 vehicle lineup.

BAF offers the Ford F-250/F-350 pickup truck with an underbody tank package, providing drivers the use of the full truck bed. The company continues to expand its R&D efforts and is working on adding Lincoln "black car" vehicles to its lineup to better serve livery and transportation industries.

BAF’s 2013 dedicated CNG vehicle lineup includes:

  • Ford Transit Connect: EPA approval; CARB pending.

  • Ford F-250/350: EPA & CARB approvals.

  • Ford F-450/550/650: EPA & CARB approvals.

  • Ford F-59: EPA & CARB approvals.

  • Ford E-250/350: EPA & CARB approvals.

  • Ford E-450/550: EPA & CARB approvals.

The 2013 bi-fuel CNG vehicle lineup includes:

  • Transit Connect: EPA approval.F-250/350: EPA.

  • E-250/350: EPA approval.

Underbody Tank Package:

  • F-250/350: EPA & CARB approvals (dedicated CNG)

All BAF vehicles less than 10,000 lbs. GVW are crash-test worthy (FMVSS 303).

The company said 2013 vehicles for conversion should be ordered before the close of the order window of May/June, depending on the vehicle platform.

Landi Renzo

Landi Renzo USA, a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) and subsidiary of Landi Renzo SpA, announced EPA certification for the 2013 Ford F-250/350 bi-fuel compressed natural gas (CNG) system, adding to its dedicated CNG and bi-fuel product portfolio offering for 2013-MY.

Available for order immediately, the EPA Certificate of Conformity includes the Landi Renzo USA bi-fuel conversion for the Ford F-Series including the F-250 and F-350 2WD/4WD Super Duty pickup variants in multiple cab configurations.

The F-250/350 bi-fuel CNG trucks are available through Landi Renzo USA's ship-thru partnerships and certified installation network.

Additional plans for Landi Renzo USA's 2013-MY Ford product portfolio include the continued development and certification of CNG applications for the Ford E-Series and F-450, F-550 and F-650 Super Duty Trucks.
