BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Alabama Trucking Association is accepting nominations for its annual SMMC Fleet Safety Awards Banquet, set for March 26 in Birmingham. Categories include Safest Fleet, Most Improved Fleet, Driver of the Year, Maintenance Professional of the Year, Safety Professional of the Year, and a new category: Fleet Manager of the Year.

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Alabama Trucking Association is accepting nominations for its annual SMMC Fleet Safety Awards Banquet, set for March 26 in Birmingham. Categories include Safest Fleet, Most Improved Fleet, Driver of the Year, Maintenance Professional of the Year, Safety Professional of the Year, and a new category: Fleet Manager of the Year.

Winners are determined by the best Department of Transportation recordable accident frequency. If there is a tie, then the total number of accidents for the year will determine the winner. After that, if there is still a tie, total mileage determines the winner.

Awards will be presented for first, second, and third place if there are five or more entries in a class. Improvement awards will also be presented. Nominations must be received at the Alabama Trucking Association office on or before close of business on Feb. 28.
