Gamber-Johnson, an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturer of rugged docking stations and vehicle mounting and long-time partner with Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, announces a new powered cradle designed for the Panasonic FZ-X1 and FZ-E1 rugged handheld tablet. Gamber-Johnson is currently taking orders and will start shipping the FZ-X1 / FZ- E1 Powered Cradle in late August 2014.

Gamber-Johnson’s Powered Cradle for the FZ-X1 / FZ-E1 is designed to leverage the efficiency and productivity of the FZ-X1 and FZ-E1 tablet by extending the use of the tablet within the mobile environment.  The FZ-X1 / FZ-E1 Powered Cradle features an AMPS, NEC, and keyhole slot mounting-pattern located on the back of the cradle making it easy to mount in a vehicle, according to the company. Combining the FZ-X1 / FZ-E1 tablet with Gamber-Johnson’s Powered Cradle provides a mobile solution enabling the tablet to be used for mapping or for hands-free business calls.

The push-button keyed lock on the Powered Cradle makes it easy to dock and undock the FZ-X1 / FZ-E1 Toughpad and keep it secure. The FZ-X1 / FZ-E1 Powered Cradle also has charging capabilities designed with original Panasonic electronics.  The Powered Cradle is designed so that all the Toughpad tablet function buttons and ports are accessible while the tablet is docked in the cradle. It will also accommodate the optional attachable magnetic stripe card reader, integrated barcode reader, and 2 different hand straps for the FZ-X1 / FZ-E1 tablet.

The FZ-X1 / FZ-E1 Powered Cradle is designed for the rugged mobile environment and tested to MIL-STD-810G shock/vibration standards, crash tested to SAE J1455 Standards, and supported with Gamber-Johnson’s three-year limited warranty.  Gamber-Johnson’s Powered Cradle for the Panasonic FZ-X1/FZ-E1 Toughpad tablet will attach to several existing Gamber-Johnson Motion Attachments. Gamber-Johnson also offers a full line of vehicle bases, poles, and motion attachments to complete the mounting system.
