Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) has launched its new Canter light-duty truck in Japan. The new Canter is now available through MFTBC dealers and regional sales centers nationwide.
MFTBC said the new Canter delivers superior fuel efficiency over previous models through enhanced environmental performance, enabling all models to meet Japan’s FY2025 Fuel Efficiency Standards (JH25).
In the new model, fuel efficiency is improved through enhanced engine efficiency, achieved via improvements to the engine itself and optimized variable geometry turbo control.
Also, MFTBC said the new Canter’s design is centered on gentleness, featuring a revised front bumper shape and standard door visors that reduce air resistance.
Together, these enhancements achieve superior fuel efficiency that surpasses the previous model.
As a result, the new Canter exceeds the JH25 mode fuel efficiency standard by approximately 5%, with certain models (4P10+ (T2), engine output 96kW, dual-clutch AMT DUONIC 2.0 compatible model) achieving fuel efficiency improvements of up to 10% above the standard.
The new Canter also complies with cybersecurity regulations, while a newly designed optional center display, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enhances connectivity and convenience for drivers.
With further advances in environmental performance and continued product evolution, MFTBC said the new Canter is positioned to support an even wider variety of customer business needs.
