Mitchell 1 announced the launch of Manager SE Inspections, a next-generation multi-point inspection (MPI) tool fully integrated with its Manager SE shop management system.
Now available for both the automotive and commercial truck markets, Manager SE brings efficiency and organization to the inspection process – making it faster to complete inspections, build estimates, and communicate with customers.
“Today’s customers expect seamless, mobile-first experience – whether they need service on a passenger car or a heavy-duty vehicle,” said Nick DiVerde, senior director of product management for Mitchell 1. “Manager SE Inspections connects inspections, pricing, and approvals in one process. It enables technicians and service writers to work more efficiently and makes it easy for customers to approve services with just a few clicks. It’s all about working smarter and delivering a better experience across the board.”
How Manager SE Inspections Works
Technicians conduct digital inspections using smartphones or tablets – capturing photos, videos, and notes to clearly document vehicle issues.
The data syncs with the browser-based Workshop View, where service advisors are instantly alerted when inspections are marked “inspected.”
From there, items flow directly into Manager SE’s Job View, eliminating duplicate entry and making it easy to create clear, priced estimates.
Once inspections are complete, customers receive a branded digital report via text or email, which includes annotated photos, videos, and notes. Customers can review each item and approve or decline services in real time through a secure portal on their phone or computer, making the process simple, transparent, and hassle-free.
“The mobile-first process speeds approvals by putting clear, visual inspection reports directly into the customer’s hands,” DiVerde added. “At the same time, it reduces extra steps for the shop team so they can focus on what matters most – delivering great service and getting vehicles back on the road faster.”
Key Features of Manager SE Inspections
Mitchell 1 said the key features of the new Manager SE Inspections include:
Job view integration – Inspection items automatically convert into job containers for faster, more organized pricing.
End-to-end workflow – No double entry; just a seamless process from inspection to estimate.
Customizable templates – Create and re-use service-specific templates; technicians only mark problem items while other points default to “green.”
Rich documentation – Add and annotate photos, videos, and notes; stored notes can trigger red/yellow status based on details or measurements.
Real-time visibility – Workshop View tracks inspections as they happen, giving teams complete transparency.
Secure, remote approvals – Customers approve line items via secure links in text or email.
Built-In follow-up – Deferred work is saved in Manager SE for easy tracking and future opportunities.
