Fleet Advantage, an innovator in specialty financing, fleet data analytics, fleet management services, and life cycle cost management, has launched its Truck Reliability and Usage Safety Tracker (TRUST).
This innovative safety index aims to provide benchmarks that address the longstanding issue of safety within the private fleet sector. Its private fleet-specific KPIs will help organizations improve areas of specific operations and elevate their overall CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) scores.
“At Fleet Advantage, we understand that having the right mix of fleet safety data and performance benchmarks is important for improving the culture of safety for private fleets,” said Katerina Jones, chief marketing officer of Fleet Advantage.
Recent statistics underscore the urgency of improving safety measures, Fleet Advantage said in a press release. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), deaths from large truck crashes were recorded at 5,078, according to the 2023 data. This data shows that fatalities from fatal large truck crashes continue to be on the rise, as these statistics are on par with data from 2022, when there were 5,936 fatal large truck crashes with more than 160,000 injuries.
However, according to TRUST, the Unsafe Driving Score average for the top private fleets is 11.5, which is a positive.
What TRUST Provides for Fleets
TRUST provides comprehensive benchmarks and insights into safety performance, enabling fleets to identify and address safety issues proactively.
TRUST will provide insights into areas including:
Current and predictive CSA scores
Inspections
Violations details including Hours of Service and Vehicle Maintenance
Crash Indicator Scoring
Peer group analysis
Driver fitness
Unsafe driving trends
In addition to private fleets, the TRUST report will be available for organizations operating in specific industry verticals and for-hire carriers. Furthermore, custom reporting can be made available based on each organization’s needs.
“Our TRUST report provides private fleets with the comprehensive insights and trended data they need to proactively address critical safety issues and to continually set high standards,” Jones added. “By incorporating safety into the Total Cost of Ownership and Life Cycle Cost Management, we empower organizations to build and protect a culture where safety is prioritized in every part of their operations, ultimately leading to safer roads, drivers, and more efficient fleets.”
Fleet Advantage debuted TRUST in its booth during the National Private Truck Council’s (NPTC) Annual Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Florida.
