HDA Truck Pride is about people and community. The Winters family has dedicated nearly 70 years to the trucking industry and serving the San Diego community,” says Tina Hubbard, President and CEO of HDA Truck Pride. “We look forward to supporting E-W Truck & Equipment Company as they continue to realize a bright and successful future.”

History of E-W Truck & Equipment Company

The E-W Truck & Equipment Company legacy began in 1954 when Earl and Ruby Winters arrived in San Diego and acquired the solely authorized Cummins Engine Company sales and service facility in the city. A nod to Earl Winters’ industry moniker, “EW”, the establishment was christened EW Equipment Company and then on July 29, 1965, the incorporation of E-W Equipment Company marked another significant milestone.

In 1974, Stuart Winters, son of Earl and Ruby, assumed the position of CEO, ushering in a new era for E-W Equipment Company, where they witnessed a surge in business growth. It was at that point Stuart added the word “Truck” to the name, and the company expanded by adding service bays and expanding the parts department.

Throughout the years, E-W Truck & Equipment Company Inc. continued to broaden the range of products and services they offer. These included a deep expansion into parts to support all highway trucks, trailers, and work/refuse equipment. Not stopping there, they went to the next level on their service offerings by adding an 800 hp Dyno and a full Transmission, Differential, Axle, and Gear shop where customers can have their units fully rebuilt and tested.

In 2003, as the third generation, bringing his experience and deep involvement in various roles throughout the family business, Jeff Winters, son of Stuart and Linda, assumed the CEO role. Under his leadership, E-W Truck & Equipment Company Inc. continues to garner a formidable reputation throughout San Diego, offering a full-service shop that stands out in any market.
