Affinity Truck Center’s Fresno, California, dealership has achieved both Mack Trucks' and Volvo Trucks' Certified Electric Vehicle (EV) Dealer status.
The designation allows Affinity Truck Center to support the Mack LR Electric refuse vehicle, as well as customers interested in adding Volvo VNR Electrics to their local and regional distribution, pickup and delivery, and food and beverage distribution routes.
To achieve EV certification, dealers are required to meet numerous safety, charging, infrastructure, tooling, and training requirements. Updates to the facility also need to be made.
Affinity Truck Center met routinely with the Mack team during the certification process to ensure their dealership met all the standards at its Fresno site, and the service team also completed Volvo Trucks’ robust training course to safely maintain and repair electric drivetrains and components, as well as invested in the necessary diagnostic tools. The dealership began installation of heavy-duty-capable charging infrastructure to enable customers to charge at the dealership.
