Rhombus TireAnalytics by Dana provides a fleet with visibility and control of its tire program by providing a platform to hold its team accountable in following digital best practices. Rhombus gives instant visibility across a fleet; real-time detection and notification of tire and policy compliance issues; cost-per-mile comparisons to help make informed purchase decisions and increase negotiating power; and more. The system allows a fleet to improve its uptime, on-time delivery record, and CSA scores while reducing costs.
Rhombus integrates with common mobile devices technicians are likely already using, and functions much like today’s common apps. The system includes pre-integrated Android and iOS mobile applications that automatically feed data into the Rhombus TireAnalytics cloud-based system. The app also allows for easier routine inspections due to its automated nature: when technicians perform an inspection or enter a pull point, Rhombus automatically performs over a dozen checks on each piece of data to ensure correctness and to maximize the accuracy of the data.
The app identifies tire related issues during the regular preventive maintenance process before they become severe in nature. Additionally, Rhombus can predict future tire needs based on past usage and tire wear rates, making budgeting for tire purchases simpler allowing for more negotiating power, and reducing the need for additional scheduled downtime for tire replacement post-PM inspection.
Because it’s cloud-based, Rhombus requires no additional IT infrastructure or support making it an easy switch from a paper or manual system. A complete “out of the box” solution for fleets without an existing tire program, onboarding Rhombus can be accomplished in a matter of days with minimal training required for a fleet’s technicians to begin performing inspections, according to the manufacturer.
Rhombus automatically feeds inspection, pull point, install, and rotation data immediately into its cloud-based system over a fleet’s Wi-Fi or mobile data connection as soon as it’s entered. Tire identification and inspection data can also be collected in the mobile application from the device’s camera and over Bluetooth compatible tools. Automatic alert notifications of tire conditions and issues can be sent via SMS text, e-mail or accessed via reporting.
Ongoing customer consulting and support includes:
Regularly scheduled team calls with Rhombus experts to improve implementation of best practices
Identification of additional opportunities for tread savings
Review tire performance by make, model, location, and application
Updates on system improvements and enhancements
