Allison Transmission’s TerraTran fully automatic transmission is available for the wide-body mining dump (WBMD) market for the first time. Allison has partnered with Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG) to integrate the transmission into their XG110 WBMD trucks.
The first series of 225 trucks equipped with TerraTran have been delivered and are supporting mining operations in Brazil.

New Variant of the Allison 4000 Series
As an uprated variant of the proven Allison 4000 Series, TerraTran is purpose built for the global construction and mining markets. Allison designed the propulsion solution based on customer input. Customers said they needed the proven reliability and durability of the 4000 Series transmission but with increased horsepower, torque, and GVW capability while also adding fast reverse capability.

Allison: Supplying Mining Segment
Allison said it provides a comprehensive lineup of products for the mining segment, offering transmissions built for 90-ton to 136-ton vehicles.
TerraTran provides maximum power of up to 800 horsepower and can support up to 3,025 lbs./ft of torque. It also features seven forward gears and two reverse gears, as well as hardened internal components built to last longer and perform in even the harshest landscapes.
