Spartan’s Utilimaster Brand showcased a walk-in van at The Clean Show, with new technology that improves driver ergonomics and safety for linen and laundry service providers. A key innovation is the curbside liftgate, which makes entry and egress with heavy laundry carts in tow safer and easier for drivers.
The curbside liftgate is easy to operate and has the durability to handle multiple loads and deliveries. The gate folds up, vertically maximizing the vehicle’s interior storage space, and can lift more than 1,000 lbs. All liftgate controls and components are housed inside the van, keeping them protected from the elements which can improve longevity and minimize maintenance requirements.
In addition, the walk-in van was upfitted with an integrated 360-degree camera that utilizes Mobileye technology, enhanced exterior and interior LED lighting, crash mitigation systems, and hands-free Bluetooth connectivity.
